CG’s SIS Intercepts 10,750 Litres of Suspected Stolen Crude Oil in Rivers State.
In line with the renewed drive of the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, to rid the nation of oil theft and economic sabotage, operatives of the CG’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’s SIS) on Thursday, 8th May 2025 at about 1752hrs, impounded three vehicles laden with 10,750 liters of suspected stolen crude oil in a forest near Odogwa Community, Etche LGA, Rivers State.
The crude oil, concealed in cellophane bags and sacks inside the vehicles, was reportedly being prepared for illegal movement to Aba, Abia State, via Etche bypass routes.
This successful operation underscores the Corps’ commitment to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure. The seized exhibits have been handed over to NSCDC Rivers State Command for further investigation and prosecution.
