NSCDC REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO COMBATING FINANCIAL CRIMES AS NFIU COMMENDS ACTU
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting all lawful efforts aimed at combating financial crimes, including money laundering, terrorism financing, and proliferation financing.
Commandant General of NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, made this known while receiving a delegation of operational experts from the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) at the Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja. The team was led by the Chief Operating Officer, Intelligence and Security Services, Abdulrahman Mustapha.
Represented by the Deputy Commandant General in charge of Technical Services, Zakari Ningi, fdc, the CG described the visit as strategic, noting that it reinforces existing collaboration between both institutions in safeguarding Nigeria’s financial system and strengthening national security architecture.
He emphasized that the fight against financial crimes is a collective responsibility requiring synergy, trust, and sustained inter-agency cooperation, with enhanced intelligence sharing and coordination as key drivers of success.
In his remarks, the NFIU team lead, Abdulrahman Mustapha, commended the NSCDC for its consistent support over the years, with particular recognition given to the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) led by Commandant Audrey Obey. He noted that the Unit’s professionalism and contributions have significantly boosted intelligence operations and strengthened the fight against financial crimes.
The visit also featured technical presentations aimed at deepening operational collaboration and improving integrated intelligence frameworks among relevant agencies.
