NSCDC BOSS STRENGTHENS NATIONWIDE SECURITY WITH DEPLOYMENT OF 57,000 PERSONNEL FOR EASTER
In anticipation of the upcoming Easter celebrations, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has sanctioned the mobilization of over 57,000 officers. This massive deployment, which includes specialized tactical units and intelligence operatives, is designed to fortify national security and guarantee a peaceful holiday period for all citizens.
The strategic operation spans all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). It serves as a proactive measure to address potential security threats while ensuring the absolute protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).
Under the CG’s explicit instructions, all Zonal Commanders, State Commandants, and Provosts of Colleges have been tasked with overseeing comprehensive security in their jurisdictions. High-traffic areas including churches, shopping complexes, parks, and recreational centers will be under strict surveillance by both visible patrols and undercover agents to preemptively strike against any criminal elements.
Prof. Audi underscored the importance of heightened vigilance and seamless coordination with other security agencies. He noted that swift information sharing and a rapid response to public reports are vital to the success of this operation.
"Our goal is a seamless and secure Easter season,"the Commandant General stated."We are working hand-in-hand with sister agencies to maintain order. I also urge parents and guardians to guide their children properly, ensuring they are not manipulated into engaging in activities that could disrupt public peace."
Furthermore, the Corps' elite divisions such as the CG’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG SIS), the Mining Marshals, the Special Female Squad (SFS), and the Crack Squad have been placed on maximum alert. These specialized teams are prepared to act decisively against any individual or group attempting to undermine the stability of the nation.
The CG encourages the general public to stay alert, support security efforts, and promptly report any suspicious behavior to the nearest NSCDC post or security formation.
