 CP Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi Assumes Duty As The 35th Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command




The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command wishes to inform the general public that CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, Ph.D, fcai, has assumed duty as the 35th Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command, today, 24th March 2026.



He takes over from the incumbent CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc., who has been elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police and redeployed to another strategic assignment by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM.



CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, Ph.D, fcai, is a seasoned police officer with decades of meritorious service and extensive professional experience. He was born on 20th May 1972 and hails from Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State


CP Mohammed Sanusi Ahmed, an astute and disciplined police officer, hails from the Lokoja Local Government Area of Koji State. He obtained his first school leaving certificate at St. Mary's LSMB School, Lokoja, in 1982. He had his post-primary education at the prestigious Crowther Memorial College (CMC), Lokoja. He proceeded to Bayero University, Kano, for further studies after sailing through the secondary school Certificate Examination (SSCE) with flying colours, from where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics. His quest for knowledge led to enrol for a diploma in computer application at the Federal Polytechnic Idah in 2005. Now satisfied with this, the enigmatic CP Mohammed Sanusi Ahmed proceeded to the National Open University of Nigeria for his Master's Degree in Business Administration. Later, he earned his PhD in management at the Kogi State University, Anyigba, with a sterling performance.


CP Ahmed's career in the police force started when he was enlisted in the Nigeria police academy, after which he served as unit Commander Mopol 37 Lokoja and, thereafter, acting Commanding Officer Mopol 37 Lokoja. CP Ahmed's career progression got a boost when he was appointed as ADC to a former governor of Kogi State. It was in this position that he was posted to sokoto as Unit Commander Mopol 7 Sokoto. Energetic Mohammed Sanusi was later transferred to Ekiti State, where he was DCO of the Aramoko Ekiti Police Command. Thereafter, he was the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for the Ijero Ekiti State Police Command. He was also redeployed to the Operations Zone 8 Police Command and the inland waterways police command. Shortly, followed by his diligence and resilience, CP Ahmed was made Officer in Charge of FSARS Ikeja, Lagos. He  was AC IGP, Tactical Squad Abuja, AC Police Special Fraud Unit. Abuja.


His exploits in these offices have carved a niche for him as an exemplary spectacular, and brilliant officer in crime-bursting. His ardent loyalty and uncompromising behavior in his duty have earned him a plethora of commendation, and his successes in the arrest of notorious armed robbers where high appreciated. CP Ahmed, who is a Fellow of the Corporate Institute of Administration and Fellow of the Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators (FIPMA), is the DC of the DFI-Intelligence Response Team in Abuja. Since he assumed office, CP Ahmed has become a thorn in the flesh of criminals in the country. To the criminal elements, the fear of CP Mohammed Sanusi Ahmed is the beginning of wisdom. His team has arrested many kidnappers and recovered arms and ammunition, many of which were displayed by the former force PRO, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi. Just two days after the launch of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) in Abuja by the Former Inspector General of Police, The IRT under CP Ahmed had picked two-gun runners and four suspected kidnappers who were terrorizing the Federal Capital Territory and neighboring communities. CP Mohammed Sanusi Ahmed has made the Nigeria Police Force proud of his exemplary behavior, which has impacted the image of the police and society in  general.
