NSCDC FCT COMMANDANT REITERATES SUSTAINABLE INTER AGENCY COLLABORATION FOR IMPROVED SECURITY .
The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Olusola Odumosu, PhD, has reiterated the need for sustainable inter agency collaboration for improved collaboration across security Agencies.
Odumosu, who was represented by the Command second in command, DCC BP Hussaini, stated this while addressing the Junior Course 100 Department of Maritime Warfare Armed Forces Command and staff College JAJI on operations visit to the FCT Command headquarters, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
The FCT Boss lauded the leadership of the Armed forces Command and Staff College, Jaji for considering the NSCDC FCT Command as part of their operational study tour.
" This visit is not only timely but also significant in fostering inter Agency collaboration, knowledge sharing and mutual understanding between the Armed Forces and other critical security Agencies".
The Department of Maritime Warfare, plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the Nation's Maritime interest in the Maritime domain, just as NSCDC remains committed to protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, maintaining internal security and supporting the nation's broader security architecture; both institutions share a common goal to ensure peace, stability and resilience within our national space, Odumosu stated.
"At the FCT Command, we will continue to strengthen our operational capacities through intelligence - led operations, community engagements and synergy with sister Agencies. Our focus remains protecting lives and property, preventing vandalism of public utilities and responding promptly to emergencies across the FCT ".
He reaffirmed that the Command was delighted to host the operations visit and expressed hope that the visit will provide them with invaluable insights into the structure, operations and contribution of the NSCDC towards national security.
" We look forward to learning from your experience and perspective as this kind of exchange enriches our collective capacity to serve our Nation better".
In his remarks, Director of Department of Maritime Warfare, Armed Forces Command and staff college, Jaji, Cdre A.O Ojebode, represented by E.R Ojo, said the visit was to foster inter Agency synergy, safeguard the Maritime safety and ensure peace stability and resilience.
Cdre Ojebode, said the visit was to provide the students with first hand insight into NSCDC FCT Command operational activities and enforcement strategies aimed at enhancing the quality of service paper the students are required to present on completion of the visit.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of papers on the historical background of the NSCDC and the amended Act of 2007 by ACC John Stephen Alaba, Armed Squad Unit Commander as well as challenges affecting security enforcement strategies with NBA and other security Agencies in Abuja Area by DCC Adejumo Adegoke, head of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure CNAI.
