NSCDC PLEDGES CONTINUOUS PARTICIPATION IN THE FORWARD OPERATING BASES (FOB) IN ANAMBRA STATE




The NIgeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Anambra State Command has pledged to deepen its  synergy with other sister security agencies at the Forward Operating Bases (FOB) to beef up already existing arrangements in the fight against insecurity and other related crimes in Anambra State. 


This was made known on Tuesday, 29 July 2025,by Commandant Maku Olatunde, the NSCDC Anambra State Commandant while playing host to the Commander FOB Aguata, Anambra State, CSP Elaigwu Austin at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters Awka.


Commandant Maku commended the FOBs for its operational gains in the fight against crime and non- state actors. He urged the troops to remain extremely vigilant throughout their tour of duty so as to deter and defeat emerging threats to Anambra security.


The NSCDC Anambra State boss asserted that  the command having deployed its operatives to two of the FOBS has remained resolute in the fights against insurgents  in the Aguata FOB since its inception for more than three years, and Ogbaru FOB for than one year. However, he promised to continue to mobilize every available resources at his disposal for the FOBs to confront the adversaries of the state.


Comdt Maku noted that the  NSCDC , in conjunction with sister security agencies would continue to work tirelessly, round the clock, to secure  Critical National Assets and infrastructure, and defend citizens whilst ensuring that the Anambra State relative peace is not undermined by any group of individuals.


He emphasized  the need for the FOBs to solidify the collaborative measures towards firming up operational strategies and tying up all loose ends that may have unwholesome potentials across the state.


Earlier in his remarks, CSP Elaigwu Austin thanked the State Commandant for the NSCDC consistent support and contributions at the FOBs. 


He assured that, he will continue to seek the operational advice from sister security agencies in tandem with the troops sacrosanct duty of exploring legitimate means of protecting lives and property of Ndi Anambra and residents alike.


He further called for collective effort among citizens to expose individuals supporting banditry and separatist groups especially their informants and logistics suppliers.


The visit of the FOB Anambra State Commander to NSCDC ANSC is a significant step towards enhancing security collaboration and synergy in Anambra State, and it is expected that the outcomes of this visit will lead to improved security measures and a safer environment for citizens.
