NSCDC PLEDGES COLLABORATION, COOPERATION WITH NCMM TO SAFEGUARD NATIONAL HERITAGE
The partnership between the duo was brought to the fore when the Director General of the commission, Mr. Olugbile Holloway paid a visit to the Commandant General (CG) of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, at the Corps' National Headquarters in Abuja.
Responding on a request made earlier made by the Director General, the CG of NSCDC assured him of his agency's willingness and readiness to provide comprehensive security for the Commission in order to protect Nigeria's rich cultural artifacts.Abuja
The NSCDC helmsman applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for appointing one with the requisite knowledge and expertise to revitalize the commission, adding that as an organization, whose duties include amongst others the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, NSCDC will not leave any stone unturned to protect the country's cultural heritage.
Earlier in his presentation, Mr. Olugbile Holloway had explained that the visit to NSCDC was to partner with stakeholders, in which the Corps is a key ally in safeguarding national artifacts, some of which had been repatriated back to the country recently.
He emphasized the need for all stakeholders to come together for the protection of national heritage.
The visit was graced by principal staff officers, mainly Deputy Commandants General of the NSCDC, just as the Director General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments was accompanied by Directors from the Commission.
