FATAL MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT CLAIMS ONE LIFE IN IBAFO
The divisional police officer of Ibafo has reported a fatal motorcycle accident that occured on March 20, 2025, at about 9:30 PM in front of the NNPC Filling Station along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ibafo, Ogun State.
The accident involved a yellow Quic motorcycle (registration number unknown) and resulted in the instant death of the rider, whose identity is yet to be established. Preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcyclist was travelling at high speed when he crashed into a culvert near the filling station. The impact led to the motorcycle catching fire and being completely burnt.
Emergency responders, including officers from the Motor Traffic Police (MOTOPOL) unit, quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. The body of the deceased has been taken to Real Divine Hospital Mortuary, Ibafo, while the burnt motorcycle has been recovered to the police station for safekeeping and further inspection by the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO).
The Ogun State Police Command urges motorcyclists and other road users to adhere strictly to speed limits and road safety regulations to prevent such tragic incidents. Investigations are ongoing, and further updates will be provided as necessary.
