NSCDC CG UNVEILS 5-YEAR STRATEGIC ROADMAP, DISTRIBUTES OPERATIONAL EQUIPMENT, PRIORITISES PROFESSIONALISM AND TECH-DRIVEN OPERATIONS

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, OFR, mni, has unveiled a bold five-year strategic roadmap aimed at strengthening the Corps’ capacity for effective service delivery and national impact.

The roadmap was presented during a high-level strategic meeting with senior officers at the commencement of his second tenure, setting a clear direction for a more professional, innovative, and responsive organisation.

Reflecting on his first tenure, the Commandant General highlighted several strategic initiatives introduced to expand the Corps’ operational scope and inclusivity. These include the Female Strike Force, Safe School Initiative, Mining Marshal, and the Special Intelligence Squad, all of which have significantly enhanced the Corps’ presence in critical areas of national security.

He noted that his administration also prioritised staff welfare and institutional reforms, leading to improved morale and a more structured approach to training and career progression within the Corps.

Looking ahead, Professor Audi emphasised the urgent need to deepen technology-driven operations, stressing that modern security challenges require smart, intelligence-led approaches. He noted that increased adoption of technology will not only enhance operational efficiency but also reduce exposure to operational hazards and minimise risks to personnel.

In demonstration of this commitment, the Commandant General carried out the distribution of operational wears, surveillance equipment, and technological gadgets to Commands across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. This, he noted, is in line with his vision to enhance operational readiness, ensure efficient service delivery, and build a positive organisational culture that will create a distinct and respected identity for the Corps within the nation’s security architecture.

The Commandant General expressed profound appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the confidence reposed in him through his reappointment. He also commended the President’s sustained commitment to strengthening the Corps, particularly through support for technological advancement and institutional growth.

Professor Audi reaffirmed that the second phase of his administration will prioritise professionalism, discipline, and accountability, while strengthening public confidence in the Corps’ ability to protect critical national assets and infrastructure.

The strategic engagement underscores a renewed vision to build a technologically advanced, highly disciplined, and forward-looking NSCDC, capable of effectively addressing Nigeria’s evolving security landscape.
