NSCDC ANCHORS SECURITY DELIVERY ON INCLUSIVITY, LAUNCHES GENDER POLICY II
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has launched its Gender Policy II, anchoring its security delivery framework on inclusivity and reaffirming its commitment to professionalism and people-centred operations.
Speaking at the launch in Abuja, the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, MNI, OFR, said inclusivity is central to building a stronger, more effective and trusted security institution. He noted that the policy aligns the Corps with global best practices and national security objectives.
Prof. Audi, who represented the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, said the policy will strengthen institutional capacity, improve operational effectiveness and guide personnel to discharge their duties with dignity, care and respect for human rights.
The event, supported by UKFIDO and SPRING, drew senior government officials, security stakeholders, development partners and civil society organisations. Speakers emphasized that inclusive security enhances accountability, protects vulnerable groups and improves public confidence.
The launch of Gender Policy II underscores the NSCDC’s commitment to UNSCR 1325 and marks a key milestone in the Corps’ drive to institutionalise inclusivity, equity and professionalism across its operations.
