MINING MARSHALS UNVEILS STRATEGY TO COMBAT ILLEGAL MINING

The Mining Marshals have launched their 2025 operational strategy aimed at intensifying efforts against illegal mining activities.  This initiative focuses on enhancing field operations, improving regulatory compliance, and strengthening collaborations with the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office to ensure effective enforcement of mining laws  .

The Director-General of the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office, Engr. Obadiah Nkom, commended the Mining Marshals for their professionalism, bravery, and resilience in combating illegal mining despite numerous challenges.  He emphasized their critical role in safeguarding the nation's economy and environment from the adverse effects of unauthorized mining activities  .

In addition to field operations, the collaboration with the Mining Cadastre Office includes plans for system upgrades, such as the automation of services and streamlined license verification processes, to enhance transparency and regulatory frameworks in the mining sector  .

The renewed commitment of the NSCDC Mining Marshals and their strengthened partnership with the Mining Cadastre Office signify a concerted effort to address the challenges posed by illegal mining and promote sustainable development in Nigeria's mining industry
