Alleged threat to life: Lagos tenant flees Nigeria
Thirty-two-year old man, Remigius Madueke Obinna, has allegedly fled the country over threat by his landlord.
According to
Obinna’s friend Ifeanyi Agwu, who raised the alarm, Remigius had been
both a resident tenant and operator of a cosmetic shop at No. 20,
Mohammed Street, Iyana Iba, a property owned by one Alfa Sule for over
six years.
Agwu claimed that
trouble started for Obinna when the landlord started persuading him to
convert to Islamic religion, while promising a lot of goodies should he
heed his advice.
Alfa Sule’s
efforts were said not to have yielded any positive result in the
conversion attempt as Obinna was reported to have bluntly resisted all
the overtures.
His refusal did not go down well with Sule (the landlord) who vowed to make life unbearable for Obinna in all ways.
It was gathered that Sule even boasted to deal diabolically with Obinna in order to prove that he was indeed, an Alfa.
Shortly after
Sule’s threat, Obinna alleged that he started seeing signs and
encounters that proved to him that his life is no longer safe.
Agwu further
explained that Alfa Sule allegedly made every effort to make his threat
true on Obinna by putting charms at the front of Obinna’s room and that
of his cosmetic shop.
He further
claimed that Sule had insisted that wherever Obinna might run to within
Nigeria, he, Sule would continue to deal with him so long wind could
blow there.
This threat
forced Obinna to pack out of the house and decided to leave the country
on January 2015, even through illegal migration.-The Authority
