Police repel attack, kill two bandits in Zamfara

Tactical operatives of the joint police and Military have repelled an attack on a community in Zamfara and killed two bandits.

The Zamfara state police command’s public relations officer CSP Mohammed Shehu stated this in a statement in Gusau.

He explained that the operatives who responded to a distress call engaged the terrorists in a fierce confrontation with the suspected bandits in a community under Tsafe Local Government Area where an attempted banditry attack on the community was repelled and two (2) suspected bandits were killed while others fled with gunshot wounds.

CSP Shehu said the Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Police Command CP Kolo Yusuf, commended the resilience of the Joint Police and Military deployed to Curtail the menace of Armed Bandits and other criminal elements in the State.

The CP Kolo called on the general public to improve and sustain their partnership with the security agencies in an effort to restore lasting peace and security in the state.

”The Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Police Command CP Kolo Yusuf has Commended the Resilience of the Joint Police and Military deployed to Curtail the menace of Armed Bandits and other Criminal Elements in the State, and called on the public to improve and sustain their partnership with the security agencies in an effort to restore lasting peace and security in the state.

“The Commissioner of Police made the commendation following the feat recorded during a fierce confrontation with suspected bandits in a community under Tsafe LGA, where an attempted banditry attack on the community was repelled and two suspected bandits neutralised while others fled with possible gunshot wounds.

“The CP while reassuring the public of improved and sustained police commitment in the ongoing campaign against the resurgence of banditry activities in the state, tasked members of the communities on effective collaboration with all the security agencies in the state in order to continue to succeed in their operations across the state,”
