Magu is Operations Management's Man of the Year

In appreciation of his uncommon exploits in the fight against corruption, Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was on Thursday, February 8, 2018 honoured by the Chartered Institute of Operations Management of Nigeria, CIOMN,  as “Operations Management Man of the Year for Anti-corruption  and Transparency".

Martin Nwannunu, Registrar, CIOMN, who presented the award at the EFCC’s Head-Office, Abuja described Magu as a “fearless fighter” whose record of achievements in corruption fight “is unparalleled”.
"Under your leadership, corruption has been curtailed and demystified making it practically difficult for anybody in Nigeria to get involved in corrupt practices without having most probably a second thought.
"The fear of EFCC is the beginning of wisdom in Nigeria today, as it doesn't matter who you are, the anti-graft agency will go after you and get you once you have your hands soiled in corruption”, he said.
According to him, the anti-corruption fight of the present administration had earned the country great respect and honour before the international community, adding that the man steering the ship of the graft fight also deserved to be honoured for doing a great, but delicate job.
He added that the Institute would confer Magu with the “Fellowship of the Institute” at a later date.
In his remark, Magu, who was visibly ecstatic thanked members of CIOMN for finding him worthy to be honoured saying, “I am really happy for this award. I am grateful for recognizing me.”
“It’s good to be recognised for whatever one is doing as it serves as an encouragement not only for me but for people who work with me”, he said.
The EFCC chair urged members of the Institute and indeed all Nigerians to abhor corruption saying, “corruption retards the progress of a nation”.
