EFCC grills, releases Ekweremadu

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, who was interrogated by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja Tuesday has been released. EFCC spokesperson Wilson Uwujaren confirmed the development to Radio Nigeria.
Mr Ekweremadu was said to have arrived at the anti-graft agency’s office in Abuja between 9-10:00 a.m.
The senator was invited for questioning last week Tuesday.
He has faced multiple allegations of sharp practices in recent years, including claims that he forged Senate standing rules which led to the controversial election of principal officers in June 2015.
Though he ‘strongly’ denied the allegations, alleging political persecution and daring anyone with evidence against him to come forward
