2 Caught for Conveying 30 Cartons of Tramadol 100mg Capsules from Onitsha to Trade Fair complex in Lagos

The driver of the truck, Mr. Igwe Ejike and his conductor, Stephen Osita have been arrested and detained by the police to produce the owner of the products.
This was disclosed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal at the Command, Lagos. CP Edgal said that on 29th June, 2018, a team of police men attached to Trade Fair Division, while on stop and search operation intercepted a Scania 220 truck with registration number FST 45 OD.
He said that during the routine check, the police discovered that the truck was loaded with 30 cartons of tramadol 100mg capsules neatly concealed under motor spare parts. The police boss said that despite how carefully the drugs were concealed, the eagle eyed police operatives were able to detect the illegal consignment and the driver, Mr. Ejike who resided at 2 Greenland Street, Olorunshogi area of Badagry was arrested with his conductor, Osita. The police boss said that the truck and the seized drugs were recovered as exhibits while further investigations were on to unmasked the owner.
CP Edgal reiterated that the Command will not rest until the streets were rid of hard drugs and the children saved from the evil effects of illicit drugs. He advised that the reward for hard work was more work and we should engage in legitimate businesses to earn our living and not engaging in things that will destroy the youths in the society.
The driver, Mr. Ejike, said that he loaded the products at Onitsha in Anambra State on way bill to Trade Fair complex in Lagos. He denied that he knew such hard drugs were loaded inside the truck and did not know the owner of the drugs
