Police arrest man for torturing son in Suleja

The police in Suleja have arrested a 35-year-old man, Isaac Uche, who
repeatedly maltreated his son leaving him with huge scars on his head
and body.
Uche, who worships in one of the Pentecostal churches, hails from Abia
state and resides in Gabondon was arrested at the weekend by the
police with the help of a resident who saw the eight-year-old son,
Prince Eze-Uche behind INEC office in Kwamba Suleja.
According to the little boy and primary two pupil of Golden
Foundation School, Gabondon, Suleja, who was very clever in his
explanations, told The AUTHORITY that his father was always beating him
and leaving scars on his body, showing, the major cut he had on his
head.
“My father is always hitting me with objects unnecessarily. I don’t
know when I am wrong or right; he always hit me with any available
objects he could lay his hands on.
“I am very scared of him. I pray he should not come out from the
police custody because the way he is looking at me he could kill me.
“He has told me that any day he sees anyone in his house because of
me, he would kill me, bury me and pack away from the house and nobody
will know anything.
Investigation shows that Uche had his wife, who had five children,
packed out of his house with four females, leaving behind his only son.
During interrogation, Uche confirmed the ill treatments, saying that
his son is very stubborn. “This is the only way I can discipline him,”
he said. The police said the case is still ongoing.
