Clashes between the military and the police in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital has left at least three people dead.
Although the cause of the clash was not yet known, it was reported that the town has been thrown into confusion.
Financial institutions, government establish­ments and people who opened their places of businesses were forced to close early because of the upheaval.
The State Commis­sioner for Police, Mr Sumonu Andulmaliki, who confirmed the in­cident said men in military uniform have abducted the Squadron Commander of Mo­pol 41, Damaturu CSP, Dauda Fika.
Meanwhile, the mili­tary Spokesman in the state, Colonel Kayode Ogunsoya, in a state­ment said a committee has been set up to end the clash.-The Authority
