FRSC arrests 60 offenders in Anambra in 2 days

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) said has it im­pounded 60 vehicles during its two-day special interven­tion patrol
The Sector Commander of FRSC in Anambra State, Mr SundayAjayi, disclosed this in an interview with journalists yesterday.
Ajayi said the special in­tervention patrol was part of the command’s effort to sa­nitise Anambra roads of the recklessness of tipper drivers which had caused numerous accidents with attendant loss of lives and property.
He said out of the 60 ve­hicles arrested for 74 offenc­es during the two day patrol, 34 were lorries.
According to Ajayi, “We had a two day special inter­vention patrol on lorry op­erators in Anambra; it may interest you to know that loss of lifes and property have been lost due to accidents caused by this category of road users.
“Prior to this measure, massive awareness cam­paigns had been done for them, warning them to rec­oncile their activities with the law as enshrined in the national road traffic regula­tion, Nigeria Highway Code and Road Traffic Regulation.
“60 vehicles were arrested for 74 offences during the two day patrol and 34 of these motor vehicles were tipper lorries.” - The Authority
