A FATHER ABUSED HIS DAUGHTER BY FINGERING HER PRIVATE PART IN POLICE DETENTION
The Commissioner of police, Lagos
State Command. CP Edgal Imohomi said that the Command received a report from a
faith based organisation that the suspect was alleged to have been abusing the
victim by fingering her private part. He said the Gender section of the Command
moved in, arrested one Mr. Godwin Udoh Akpan of Modupe Street, off
Balogun Street, Ikeja and investigated the allegation.
CP Edgal said preliminary investigation
revealed that Mr.Godwin Akpan moved his daughter from his home town in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom
State where she was living with her mother before he relocated her to stay with
him in Lagos. He said that the suspect usually kept the victim with one Mama
Winner, who was a member of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG.
However, the CP said on 23rd of May, 2018, when the suspect came to pick the victim, the little girl refused to follow him. When asked why she refused, she revealed that her father was abusing her at home.

The police boss said that the victim had been
retrieved from his care and kept in protective custody. The suspect was
undergoing interrogations and had already confessed to the crime but blamed it
on the devil.
Mr. Edgal said that the suspect will
definitely be charged to court for the alleged offence at the conclusion of
investigations
